The day’s plan
Leaving Kigali: Your day begins with an early pickup at 4:30am at your residence or hotel in Kigali to the northern province of the country to Volcanoes national park. The drive takes 2- 2.5 hours through rolling hills, beautiful small towns and terraced volcanic land scapes.
7:30 – 8:00 am: Arriving at Volcanoes National Park and briefing
Upon arrival in Musanze, proceed to Kinigi park headquarters for a short briefing. the calm and knowledgeable guides and rangers provide awareness about the park jungles and how to carefully associate with the golden monkeys in their natural habitat. It is good to know that participating in this activity is one way of contributing to conservation.
8:30 – 11:00am: Into the bamboo forest.
From the park centre, drive for less than 30 minutes to the starting point at the lower slopes of the Virunga mountains.
