Best 9 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari takes you for  gorilla trekking in Rwanda, wildlife, golden monkey tracking, Iby’Iwachu cultural visit, and canopy walk

Day 1: Arrival and city tour

On arrival, have a city tour, you will visit, Gisozi genocide memorial, local market, and craft shop. After have lunch and drive you to Akagera national park Dinner and overnight at Akagera game lodge.

Day 2 Kigali-Akagera National Park Game drive and boat cruise

Very early in the morning, after breakfast,  proceed for  game drive and see the early risers and look out for wild life and other animal species like the  Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffe, warthogs, water bucks, bush bucks, oribi, hear beets among others respectively. In the afternoon prepare for a canoe ride on Lake Ihema and here you may spot aquatic wildlife like hippos, crocodiles and much more birds and animals along the shores of the lake. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Akagera- Volcano National park

In the morning after breakfast proceed to Kigali and have a city tour where you will visit Gisozi genocide memorial, local market and craft shop and then after drive to volcano national park. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Muhabura.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience

After our breakfast prepare for briefing from park officials and after enter into the jungle to search for the shy mountain endangered gorillas. Requirements like tracking shoes, hut, insect repellent, sun screen, rain gears, and bottled water are must and other tools that one may need once in the tropical rain forest. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 5: Golden monkey trekking- Ibyi’wachu cultural village.

After breakfast at the Lodge, you will go for Golden Monkey trekking within the Volcanoes National Park. These Golden Monkeys are also endangered primates with in the forest. This activity will not take long like as it is when tracking the Gorillas. Return to your lodge for lunch after visit the Ibyi’wachu cultural village for cultural performances. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Muhabura.  Meal plan: Full-Board

Day 6: Volcanoes-Nyungwe Forest

After breakfast drive to Nyungwe forest national park lunch Enroute. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura hotel. Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking experience- relax at the shoes of Lake Kivu

After breakfast prepare for briefing from park officials and then go for chimpanzee trekking. This experience does expose you to variety of wildlife species that this forest offers such as the Lhotse’s monkey and the grey-cheeked mangabey are often sighted. The birds are spectacular, though as in most tropical forests, you’ll have to look hard for them. Giant hornbills, great blue turacos and red-breasted sparrow hawks are amongst the specials, of which 24 are endemic to this section of the Rift Valley. Return to lodge for lunch and after if time allows drive and relax at the shoes of Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura guest house. Meal plan: Full-Board

Day 8: Canopy walk

After a morning breakfast, start your brave day and go for the canopy walk , walkable shoes, hut, insect repellent, sun screen, rain gears and others needed while in tropical rain forest. Expect to see face to face with some primates and some birds that have the habit of hiding up in the tree canopies. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura guest house. Meal plan: Full-Board

Day 9: Nyungwe -Kigali

After breakfast, drive back to Kigali for your flight back home. If time allows you may have a stopover at museum of natural history. Lunch Enroute.
